A Downtown Santa Ana deli, built in 1931, open now
C4 Deli opened in Downtown Santa Ana's Arts District, in a vacant space inside a 1931 building one block from the historic Santora Building, reimagined as an old-world deli with a modern flair by the owners of Chapter One: The Modern Local. The name was always half the point: C4, the Cure for the Common — a counter-style Santa Ana deli that happened to cure its own meat.
For over a decade, the kitchen turned out house-cured pastrami and corned beef, hand-packed pickles, and a Reuben sandwich built on marbled rye that regulars still talk about as one of the best in Orange County. Pair that with a rotating line of draft and bottled craft beer and a wine list by the glass or bottle, and you had a reason to linger in DTSA.
The deli closed its doors. We're bringing it back — same Broadway address, same instinct for curing things properly, and a menu built to honor what made the original C4 Deli worth the walk down Broadway.
